Recognition, Accreditation and Validity

Indian Board of Alternative Medicines is a Government registered institution Registered by the Government of West Bengal under Act XXVI based on the Central Government Act XXI of 1860.
Legality, Validity & Utility of the training courses, practice and research in the field of Alternative Systems of Medicines are in strict conformity with the Constitution of India as per Article 19(1)g and the Laws of the Land.
Successful and trained students of the Board can practice and profess the various systems of Alternative Medicines as per the Rules and Regulation of the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines anywhere in India.
The Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta passed an Order of "Status quo" in favour of Indian Board of Alternative Medicines against the respondents namely (Deptt. of Home (Police), Union of India; Deptt. of Health and Family Welfare, Union of India; Medical Council of India and others). Hence the practitioners of Indian Board of Alternative Medicines can practice Alternative System of Medicines without any interference by the above named respondents.
Registration from Medical Council of India (MCI) is not required to practice the alternative systems of medicines as per their letter No. MCI-34(1) / 96-Med. / 10984 addressed to the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines.

International Students and Students From India Migrating Abroad

After completion of the course, one can apply for attestation of their certificate / diploma completed with IBAM with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the Foreign Ministry / Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for using them internationally.

Students requiring attestation of the Ministry of External Affairs (Foreign Ministry), Government of India can contact the Administration for assistance on completion of their courses.
The American Association of Drugless Practitioners Certification & Accreditation Board, U.S.A. has granted The Indian Board of Alternative Medicines full board professional accreditation and certification. Our school's curriculum fully meets the accreditation board’s educational requirements, and should give the students a thorough knowledge of courses set-forth by the Board.

Graduates of the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines will be eligible to apply to be board certified holistic health practitioners through the AADP.
The Indian Board of Alternative Medicines has formed an affiliation with the Australian Committee of Natural Therapies, Australia and New Zealand.

ACONT is a national and international association representing natural, traditional, bioenergetics and magnetic therapist. ACONT is also a Schedule 1 Association, listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration, representing qualified natural therapies practitioners of many ingestible modalities.

Our school's curriculum fully meets the Association’s educational requirements and should give the students a thorough knowledge of natural and complementary therapies.

Graduates of the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines will be eligible to apply for membership with the association as 'Practitioner'. In addition students graduating with an ingestible modality can apply as 'Schedule 1 Practitioner' enabling them to receive a TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) certificate to obtain practitioner only products for their clients.

All members of ACONT can apply for Practitioners Insurance within the modality they are working.
