The Indian Board of Alternative Medicines (IBAM) is the nation's foremost organization in the field of alternative medicines. It has a membership of over 200,000 practitioners and over 195 affiliated centers all across the country.
In addition to its affiliation with the International Association of Educators for World Peace (Consultative Status with United Nations ECOSOC, UNICEF and UNESCO), United Nations University for Peace and the Indian Committee of Non-Governmental Organizations for the United Nations, the IBAM is also affiliated with a host of other internationally renowned institutes and organizations worldwide
The syllabus of the various courses are as per the standard and based upon the syllabus prescribed by the Ministry of Health, Government of India and various other national and international universities.
The students of the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines (IBAM) are provided with the opportunity to participate in local/national and international conferences organized by IBAM. These events are an annual feature and provide the students with a platform to exchange ideas and information, interact with doctors and therapists of international repute and generally broaden their horizons. The IBAM also organizes a Convocation during its conferences and students have the option of being awarded their Diplomas and Certificates by distinguished guests at the Convocation
In spite of the consistent advance of western medicine there is still dearth of doctors and practitioners. Hence, there exists vast scope to practice alternative medicine, and career prospects in this field are indeed bright and beckoning. Opportunities abound to earn and serve ailing humanity through benign and cost effective methods of healing, and to be an active participant in the development and proliferation of alternative medicines which is gaining ground all over the world.
The propagation and practice of the various systems of alternative medicine is absolutely legal and in accordance with the Constitution of India as per the judgement of the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta.
The IBAM offers a free Personal Contact Programme (PCP) of 5 days duration starting from the 1 of every month till the 5 where the Faculty Members of the Board are available to clarify any course related queries of students. PCP programme is free and can be attended by any student.
Exorbitant course fees have made the study of the science of medicine in accessible to the common man. Hence, IBAM has kept the fees of its various courses very reasonable and affordable.
The course materials and lessons sent by the IBAM are written in very simple and lucid language to facilitate the study of the various subjects. Even then, should any difficulties arise, students are always welcome to write to the Course Director who will be pleased to answer their queries and clear their doubts or attend the Personal Contact Programme (PCP) of the Board conducted every month.
